2006: Completed On-Site Fabrication of World Largest GRP Chemical Storage Tanks |
In 2006, PT Gunung Putri Graha Mas (GPGM) has completed fabrication of two 5000 m3 (1.3 million gallon) phosphoric acid tanks. The two tanks are the world\\\'s largest glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) chemical storage tanks, having a diameter of 20 m (65.6 ft) and a shell height of 15.8 m (51.8 ft). The design specific gravity for the tanks is 1.8, which results in a liquid head pressure of 28.4 m (93.2 ft) water column or 282 kPa (40.3 psi). Each filled vessel will weigh in excess of 9000 tonnes. |
